Structure of the school

Classes 7-10

Class frequency: about 9 students
Structure: classes 7 to 10 

Curricula: 

  • curricula for secondary schools
  • curricula for pupil with learning disabilities

The range and number of subjects at our school are the same as for secondary schools in Brandenburg.

Extra-lessons:

  • perception-training
  • basic technical training
  • special suport in economy, work, technics

Basic education in working with computers
Classes 9 and 10 get vocational guidance and work experiences.

Exams in class 10:

participation at central exams of the federal state Brandenburg:

  • German and Mathematics (written)
  • one foreign language (oral)
  • one other subject from class 10 (oral).

Qualifications:

After class 9:
1. “Berufsbildungsreife” (= qualification to start an apprenticeship)

After class 10 they can get:
2. “erweiterte Berufsbildungsreife” (= advanced qualification to start an apprenticeship)
3. “Fachoberschulreife”, respectiviely “Realschulabschluss” (= advanced qualification to start an apprenticeship)
4. qualification to go on to class 11-13, at the end of which, students can get the A-level

Classes 11-13

Class frequency: about 9 students
Structure: classes 11-13 (accepted from all federal states)

Introductory phase class 11 - first term: Lessons are taught in classes with a fixed timetable. Some subjects are obligatory, some are optional.

Qualification phase: From class 11 – second term on students learn in basic and advanced courses. Advanced courses are taught 5 lessons a week, basic courses 3. Advanced courses are automatically A-level exam subjects Additionally students have to choose two basic course subjects to be tested during the A-level exams.

Qualifications:

1.    “Fachhochschulreife” ( = qualification to attend a college)
2.    “Die allgemeine Hochschulreife / Das Abitur” ( = qualification to attend university)
