Specific education for blind students
At the beginning of this apprenticeship all participants have to do a training of their touching sense. When all basic abilities are available, then they have to learn Braille.

Students in primary school have to learn Braille 1 first and then in class 4 they learn Braille 2, because the school books in class 5 are only in Braille 2.

Students are also trained in working with aids to learn reading and writing. From class 5 on they learn to write with ten fingers on keyboards. From class 7 on they learn how to work with the Braille terminal. They learn Euro-Braille and learn how to work with the word processing programme Word and the spreadsheet Excel.

This way students are well prepared to go on to class 11 to 13, where they will have to use the computer quite often. And of course, these abilities are also very important for a lot of jobs and subjects of study at university.
