| O & M - Orientation and Mobility |
|
An important part of pedagogical support at our school are lessons in orientation and mobility. In these lessons you learn to be independent at home and outside. Why are the lessons in orientation and mobility important? Blindness and visually impairment limit the abilities for independent orientation and mobility. Visually handicapped and blind people develop fears, especially in unknown places. They think they need help. You ask yourself… How can a blind or visually handicapped person come along in unknown places, buildings or road traffic? Is it possible to go shopping or go by bus when you are visually handicapped? Which things can you learn in O & M?
